YOUR DATA. YOUR INFRASTRUCTURE.
Self-hosted storage still makes sense in the cloud.Self-hosted storage still makes sense in the cloud.
Cloud infrastructure does not mean every part of your application must be a managed service. Run Keldra on your chosen servers, keep object storage close to your applications and use the same API and query model across environments.

Consistent across environments
Use one object API and query model on cloud servers and on-premises, rather than building a separate application integration for each provider.
Isolation and control
Choose the account, network and access controls around your deployment. Your infrastructure policies remain yours to operate.
Co-locate with your apps
Place storage near the services that use it. Measure latency and provider network charges for the actual traffic between them.
Plan capacity on your terms
Choose the compute and storage you provision, monitor demand and add room as your workload grows.
A simpler application stack
Store objects, query indexed data and apply application permissions in Keldra instead of connecting a separate service for every supported need.

Deploy where it works for you.
Choose cloud servers or your own infrastructure. Keep the application-facing model consistent, while testing networking, disks, backup and recovery for each environment. Moving data and changing endpoints still takes planning.

Your own infrastructure
Same product and query model. Your deployment choices.
Real control, with clear trade-offs
Self-hosting gives you choices and responsibility. It is a good fit when your team wants to operate the storage service; a managed service may be better when it does not.
You run it
Provision, monitor and maintain Keldra. Plan upgrades, capacity, backups and tested recovery as part of running your application.
You pay for infrastructure
Budget for compute, disks, backups, network traffic, Keldra licensing and your team’s time. Self-hosting is not automatically cheaper, and provider transfer charges do not disappear.
You keep control
Choose where data lives and who can reach the service. Configure authorisation and infrastructure security to fit your own requirements.
You can start small
Try a single server locally, then qualify the deployment you need. Free development and production licences give you room to evaluate before paying for more capacity or nodes.
Hypothetical scenarios
Examples of where the approach may fit, not customer testimonials or measured savings.
HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE
Media and research archives
A research team could keep uploaded data near cloud processing jobs while using the same object API for an on-premises archive. Backups and transfer costs remain part of the design.
HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE
Application data at scale
A software team could store files and indexed JSON alongside its application, using Keldra’s supported queries and authorisation rather than maintaining a separate integration for each function.
HYPOTHETICAL EXAMPLE
Control over sensitive data
A team could choose its own region, tenancy and network boundaries for sensitive records. That control is not a compliance certification; the organisation still has to meet and verify its obligations.
Provider infrastructure and network charges still apply. Check current pricing for your actual deployment, rather than assuming a universal saving.
